Trophy Terrain is built for the do-it-yourself hunter working a small piece of ground, from a quarter-acre kill plot to a handful of acres. If you have been stuck buying farm-sized bags and jugs meant for 40 acres when you have half an acre, this is sized for you. Running more acres? We can scale up too, just ask.
Food Plot Seed Blends
Each blend is built for a different job. Trophy Trio is 45% oats, 45% winter rye, and 10% coated Ladino clover, a fast, forgiving fall blend where the cereal grains green up quick and the clover carries into spring. Triple Threat is 40% turnips, 40% radishes, and 20% kale, a heavy-tonnage blend whose leaves sweeten after frost and pull deer into the late season. Monarch Mix is 50% turnips, 20% coated chicory, 20% coated red clover, and 10% coated Ladino clover, built for first-year draw plus a perennial base that produces across multiple seasons.
Plant your Trophy Terrain seed blends in summer, roughly June through August. That timing lets the plot get established and gives you forage through fall and winter. Watch the ten-day forecast and try to plant just before rain, since moisture is what drives good germination and a strong start.
The clover and chicory in our blends are coated to help them establish. The coating holds moisture and protects the small seed early on. It does add a little weight that is not live seed, which is normal for coated seed.
Liquid Food Plot Fertilizer
Each product has one job in the season. Buck 10 is a high-nitrogen 10-5-5 that pushes fast growth and heavy tonnage. Even 7 is a balanced 7-7-7, the all-season workhorse that keeps a plot fed. Keeper is a 0-2-6 with humic and kelp and no nitrogen, made to finish a plot strong heading into the cold. Rack Builder Ca-B is a 4-0-0 calcium and boron fertilizer that supports forage quality and plant structure as a supplement to the program.
Think of it as a season sequence. Even 7 goes down right before planting to prep the seedbed. After the plot is up, feed it a few weeks later, and again a few weeks after that, with Buck 10 or Even 7 depending on how hungry the crop is. Before cold temperatures set in, put down Keeper to add potassium and phosphorus without forcing soft late growth. Rack Builder can go on as needed to support forage quality. The exact steps vary by blend.
Coverage is based on your plot size at the standard rate of 2.5 gallons per acre. In plot terms, a half-gallon treats about a quarter-acre, a one-gallon treats about a half-acre, and a 2.5-gallon covers about an acre. We size for real kill plots, so you are not splitting a jug meant for a 40-acre field.
Trophy Terrain fertilizers are concentrated, so you dilute them with water and spray. Mix at least 4 parts water to 1 part product, and more water is better. Before the plot is up, spray it evenly on the soil. Once the plot is growing, you can spray the foliage, and the extra water helps you get even coverage and avoid leaf burn. A hand sprayer, backpack sprayer, or a tow-behind is all you need.
Liquid is faster to the plant and easier on a small plot. It goes down evenly through a simple sprayer, there are no heavy bags to haul or spreader to calibrate, and the nutrients are available to the plant quickly.
Not to run the Trophy Terrain program. Our liquid food plot fertilizers are built to be your feed program from planting through frost. If a soil test shows your ground is short on something, or the pH is off, granular fertilizer or lime can help as an optional foundation, but it is not required to get a green, well-fed plot with Trophy Terrain.
